NOTE FROM CLUB FOUNDER
Hello:
I am Jackie Schultz, a sophomore at Wood River, and a Republican. After consulting with the Student Union on my idea of starting a High School Junior Republican Cub, I received the blessing of Mr. Koch and the students.
The purpose of this club is to meet to co-curricular needs of students, to enhance self-esteem, and to provide student involvement. Club members would be discussing politics, providing positive attitudes towards all political parties in the school, volunteering for the local Blaine County Republicans, making and sending care packages and support to troops, encourage students of age to vote in 2016, and working towards a trip to Washington D.C. for a youth conference held by the Teenage Republicans (T.A.R.S.)
Our organization is one of the Republican club groups, of which there are three:
-
Teenage Republicans (Ages 13-18),
-
Young Republicans (Ages 18-40),and
-
College Republican National Committee (College Students).
Because of the age limits, T.A.R.S. is the appropriate organization for our school. All students are invited to attend our club, even ones in the opposite political party. The sole purpose of this club is to stop the hate and join together and exercise our political rights.
The goal of this club is to learn both about the importance of being involved with our governmental processes and learning leadership skills. We hope to create an environment that will nurture things that will help students find who they are as well as what you stand for in our personal convictions.
I became an official T.A.R.S. Representative and I plan on leading Club to greatness and to show why politics are important in today's society. I would hope you join us in support of our goals. Thank you.
Kind appreciation,
Jackie Schultz
